But even within phals there can be a lot of variation. I have some orchids that began blooming around March this year and lost their blooms a couple weeks ago. But my biggest phal which is always first to spike began blooming in January. That one still has most of the blooms.The reason orchid pots are clear is because the roots have the ability to photosynthesise so putting them in decorative pots can make them struggle. Orchids also need a destinct temperature drop at night to encourage them to flower so keep them away from heat sources to make sure they cool over night.
