I just got approved for CSP in branch today for a $22,000 limit and 90k sign up bonus as my 5th card for the 5/24 rule. I asked if I could get the annual fee waived but that wasn't an option. Discover Cash Back, $6,400, 05/2018.The sapphire preferred card also gives 2x points on travel, but any 2% cash back card can match this and usually they have no annual fee as well. I do realize that their welcome bonus of a hefty 100,000 points (about $1000) is enticing but I just don’t see the value of this card in the long run because of its annual fee.Well, today is April 14, 2022. I checked online today and only saw the 60K offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I did not see any 80K offer. I was waiting for today to apply. I guess I will try to go in-branch and see if I can get it. Use a referral and you'll get 80k online. I think Chase has that pseudo-rule of them not extending anymore credit that goes over 50% of your income, but that’s anecdotal. I should also make clear that it only “applies” to credit FROM Chase, they won’t add up your total existing credit lines.
